Every session in Tallahassee shapes how Florida law enforcement does the job, pay, pension, due process, training, protections, retirement, and survivor benefits. Florida FOP's legislative committee and lobbyist team work the building full-time, year-round, so officers have a clear voice where the decisions are made.
How It Works
The Florida FOP Legislative Committee is a working group of FOP members from across the state who track legislation, set priorities, meet with lawmakers, and direct the lobbyist team during session and the interim. The committee isn't honorary. Members show up, read bills, take positions, and represent law enforcement at the Capitol. The lobbyist team carries those positions into committee rooms, member offices, and floor debates, every day the legislature is open and most days it isn't.

Lisa Henning | Legislative Director
Lisa Henning is the Legislative Director for the Florida State Fraternal Order of Police, with more than 25 years of lobbying experience across public safety, corporate affairs, workers’ compensation, environmental policy, and regulatory matters.
She began her political career as Assistant to the Executive Staff under Governor Bob Martinez, has worked on political campaigns and constitutional ballot initiatives, and has represented more than 30 clients across her career. Lisa specializes in strategic planning, legislative drafting, and policy monitoring, and continues to advocate for FOP members and the broader public safety community from Leon County, Florida.
Who Sets the Priorities
The committee meets regularly to set legislative priorities, review bills, and direct the lobbyist team. Members are FOP officers and labor representatives from across the state chosen for their experience, not for show.
