The Foundation exists to honor the fallen.Through the annual Memorial Service, the Roll Call of Heroes, the State Memorial wall, and direct support for the families left behind, Florida FOP carries the names forward — not as a gesture, but as a standing commitment kept by members, lodges, and the entire law enforcement community.
A Tribute to Every Officer Who Made the Ultimate Sacrifice.
The Officer Down memorial, sculpted by Michael D. Jernigan and dedicated March 9, 2009, stands as a permanent tribute to the brave men and women who gave their lives so others may live in freedom and safety. The inscription reads:
"This memorial is dedicated to all the brave men and women who have given their lives so that others may live in freedom and safety. It is a tribute to all our everyday heroes who valiantly protect us and are willing to make the ultimate sacrifice. May this be the last officer down this society ever sees."

Agencies and families submitting an officer for consideration follow a defined process. The Foundation reviews each submission carefully and notifies the submitter of the outcome.
